Design: Cladosporium fulvum isolate Race 5 Kim was grown in half-strength potato dextrose agar for 2 weeks at 23C. Tomato plants (Solanum lycopersicum cv. Moneymaker) were performed by conidia spray-inoculations as previously described and infected leaves were harvested at 8 dpi. Collected samples were immediately frozen in liquid nitrogen and stored at -80C until RNA extraction. Samples were ground to a powder in liquid nitrogen, and total RNA was extracted using Trizol. Preparation and sequencing of the polyA-selected RNAseq libraries were outsourced to the DNA Technologies and Expression Analysis Core Laboratory at the UC Davis Genome Center.
